McGonigal Strategies is a grant writing and fundraising consulting firm that supports small and mid-sized nonprofits. Founded in 2024, the firm brings more than a decade of hands-on nonprofit development experience to every client engagement.
👋 Meet Kelly McGonigal
I’m Kelly McGonigal, a nonprofit fundraising consultant with over a decade of experience helping mission-driven organizations grow. I founded McGonigal Strategies to help nonprofits build strong donor relationships, win competitive grants, and raise the resources they need to thrive.
📈 My Experience
Before launching McGonigal Strategies, I led institutional fundraising efforts at the Georgia Center for Opportunity, where I oversaw major revenue growth. I also held development roles at Atlas Network and have supported a wide range of nonprofits in increasing their fundraising results.
Over the years, I’ve helped nonprofits secure tens of millions of dollars in funding through:
✔️ Writing and submitting of grant proposals, LOIs, and reports
✔️ Building and managing relationships with foundation staff and major donors
✔️ Designing grant calendars, tracking systems, and internal processes
✔️ Aligning messaging and strategy to make a compelling, fundable case for support
🤝 My Approach
I collaborate closely with nonprofit leaders to create clear, achievable fundraising strategies. When you work with McGonigal Strategies, you’re not handed off to a junior associate or intern — you work directly with me. I intentionally limit my client roster so I can offer personalized attention, thoughtful strategy, and timely communication.
Whether you’re refining your case for support, preparing a proposal, or figuring out how to focus your limited development resources, I help you cut through the noise and take the next right step.
✨ A Bit More About Me
I’m a proud graduate of the University of Virginia, where I studied Religious Studies. I live in Georgia with my husband Shane and our four sons, and we’re active members of Living Faith Lutheran Church.
As a child, I dreamed of being both a writer and a mom — and I feel incredibly grateful to live out both of those callings today.
